Researchers and different people gave different names for the testing. Different types of testing in the testing phase are
Unit Testing
This testing is carried out by the Programmer/developer. The developer in this unit testing tries to find the possible problems in the code or application which are possible for him/her.
User Acceptance Testing
This testing is used to see that all the basic requirements are met by the application/product and it can be buyable or not.
Regression Testing
Regression testing is retesting. Regression testing is not performed in the first version. It is done for all the versions after the first version. Example: If any bugs are found in the version 1 and they are reported then the developers fixes those bugs and release the version 2. It’s the responsibility of a tester to check for the bugs of version 1 in version 2 to confirm whether the reported bugs are fixed or not. This is known as “Regression Testing”.
Integration Testing
This testing is used to test how the application behaves if it’s integrated with the other application. Example: Some televisions which are sold in Japan might not be used in India because the televisions in Japan might have different specifications. So when a product is released for testing then testers check if this product can be integrated or not.
Performance Testing
The name says it all. It is used to check “How the application performs”, “How it performs in different environments”. There are many performance parameters which are considered for an application. Different parameters are considered depending upon the type of the application.
